Pastel colors for hair have been a thing lately but seem like very few fans of it are ready for permanent pastel hair. When L’Oreal released 1-day L’Oreal Colorista hair colors in spray and wash out, everyone went crazy – and Instagram stories were crowded with pastel hair. So I decided to review a 1-day Colorista Spray in #PinkHair color and let you know my thoughts about this ‘best thing invented after bikini’.
“L’Oréal Paris Colorista 1 Day Spray is a temporary hair colour that is instantly visible and washes out in a single wash. The spray formula allows for an easy application and contains a white micro-powder to deliver a visibly pigmented colour, regardless of how light or dark your natural hair colour is underneath. The colour dries in one second. Available in five shades.”
The L’Oreal Colorista Spray is a spray (75ml) that gives a color to your hair for 1 day. In my experience, the color stayed on the hair for around 5 hours first time when I colored only the bottom of my hair. The second time I washed it out after 3 hours (it is easy to wash off, and it may be the only truth about this product). The spray comes in a small can and it wouldn’t be enough of spray for my long hair, so I decided to make a messy bun and color it instead. The color dries up on the hair, but for a better effect, I used a hair spray to fix it.
#PinkHair for Brunette?
I bought the #PinkHair spray, which is supposed to give you a pastel pink hair – according to L’Oreal. However, as a brunette, I got something between #Lavander or #HotPink. It is not too tricky to apply the product, but I had troubles with applying it on my bangs. For some reason, I had to use a lot more product for the bangs than for the rest of the hair. On hair, it feels pretty icky and after drying and fixing with hair spray, it still transfers on my hands.
The quality of the color actually does depends on your hair color. If your hair is darker, it will not be that much of a vibrant color. I guess it works the best on blonde hair, otherwise, you will have to layer the product repeatedly to get the desired color.
Yay or nay?
Given the price and the amount you get, which is not enough for the full coverage, I would rate this product a 3/5 as it was fun to use, but would definitely not wear it to a festival or any other event, because you never know when will it disappear from your hair and you will be ordinary brunette. I wasn’t totally disappointed with the color – actually, I really like it (probably even more than I would like pastel pink), but it was not what the box said it was 😂
